February Kids Events: Kids Scavenger Hunt, Valentine’s Day Card Making, Mardi Gras Party, and Pokemon Club
It's all at the Southwest Harbor Library!
SOUTHWEST HARBOR—Beat the winter weather and take part in a variety of kids and family events at the Southwest Harbor Public Library in February. The events are open to a range of ages, with some requiring registration.
Kids Scavenger Hunt: Some chilly animals are bundled up and hiding around the library - find all ten and win a prize! Stop by the table outside of the picture book room for a checklist to this ongoing scavenger hunt. Themes change seasonally. Drop-in, all ages welcome.
Valentine’s Day Card Making Station: Kids and their families are invited to stop by the library and make a card for someone they love during this week-long Valentine’s Day event! Materials will be available on a table near the circulation desk from February 7th - 14th during open library hours. No registration required. https://tinyurl.com/5n6rxve7.
Kids Mardi Gras Party: Kids, tweens, and teens are invited to this special Mardi Gras event on Tuesday, February 17th from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Make a shoebox “parade float,” create your own masquerade mask, and try some New Orleans-themed snacks! Geared for kids 6+. Register for the event at https://tinyurl.com/mupsm6z5.
Pokémon Club (ongoing): Kids 8+ are invited to the library for our brand new Pokemon Club! Play, trade, or meet with fellow trainers during this one-hour program, after school from 3:30 - 4:30pm. This program will take place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, beginning February 11th. Snacks are provided, registration encouraged: https://tinyurl.com/55795ush.
Ongoing programs: Storytimes weekly- Baby Storytimes 10:00-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays; and Family Storytimes 10:00-10:30 a.m. Fridays. Youth Chess Club; first and third Wednesday of each month: Feb. 4th & 18th, Mar. 4th & 18th, and Apr. 1st & 15th.
