Siren & Sailor Opens
You can buy a specialty cocktail that comes in mermaid glass.
If that’s not enough to get you to Siren & Sailor on lower Main Street in downtown Bar Harbor, maybe the made-from-scratch food and ridiculously kind staff will.
The soft opening happened in early April.
Caroline Vibert is the bar manager. Matt Letty is the head chef, creating the menu that right now features seafood bolognese, pork belly, monk fish and chautercie boards to fall overboard for.
Kelly, Phil, and Nick Corson began the restaurant after a decade of success at The Travelin Lobster in Town Hill, and one year of Frenchman Bay Lobster Rolls at 5 Main Street in Bar Harbor.
Phil has been a fisherman just like his grandfather and father. You can see that here in the decor, in the celebration of seafood, but also in the attitude of pride and care and helpfulness. He built the bar. He built a captain’s table for big groups. He built—with his family—a legacy.
Siren & Sailor is a little funky, a little chill, a little cozy and despite the elevated cuisine full of kindness.
As people come and go they are greeted with a ‘welcome aboard’ or an ‘ahoy, matey.’ If they know you? You’re greeted with a hug.
